Wikipedia lists two 90 Mile Beaches: one in New Zealand and one in Australia. The Australian one is even actually more than ninety miles long (94, to be exact to the nearest whole number of miles). The Kiwi one is only 55 miles long.
If the setter believed that by including the words "optimistically named" they'd eliminated the Australian one ... well, words fail me.
